Another update:

I spoke to the doctor this afternoon. Herko has a virus infection called Herpes zoster. This may be a fairly harmless virus, but with Herko it has had too long to proliferate. And that's why it ended up in his nervous system. The latter seems to be quite exceptional. This could apparently be very dangerous, but the way it looks now, they think they got there in time. He responds well to the antiviral drugs he receives. He was a little more alert this afternoon. He still has a fever and his face is quite swollen. But that takes time and it will eventually work out. He is still receiving the medicines through the IV, but they expect that at some point this will no longer be necessary. Then he is released from the hospital and can continue with tablets. They're going to do a MRI of his head tomorrow. All in all we are a day further and fortunately he has taken a few steps forward. If this trend continues tomorrow, we'll be super happy!

Weer een update;
